The new Radiohead video for "House of cards" was made without cameras. 3D images were generated using a LIDAR ( essentially an array of lasers used to scan surfaces. Applications of LIDARs include terrain surface mapping and 3D objects detection. By pointing the lasers to different points of a surface you can measure precisely the distances between one reference location and the points were the lasers are pointing) and 3D real-time animation methods ( here applied to models of people and facial expressions).
